i-Rock is a drop in and signposting service for young people aged 14-25 in East Sussex. It’s a joint venture between ESCC and Sussex Partnership. They have 3 physical bases in Eastbourne, Newhaven and Hastings. Due to the current circumstances, they are offering a virtual service through something called Attend Anywhere. All a young person has to do is go to https://nhs.vc/irock-service and they can be chatting to a project worker in minutes.
A very limited number of face-to-face appointments are also being offered if a young person is presenting with suicidal ideation or a number of complex issues. To discuss this, an email should be sent to irockeastsussex@gmail.com.
Sessions typically last around 45 minutes to an hour which can be around anything; mental health, education, employment, finances – or anything else they wish to talk about! i-Rock are linked with many statutory and community services and hope to refer the young person to the most appropriate onward service for their needs. They also have two in-house peer support workers who provide up to 3 brief intervention sessions (packages include anger management, suicidal feelings, fear of failure).
You can follow i-Rock on Instagram, @i_rock_eastsussex where they hold 3 Instagram Live sessions a week covering a wide range of topics.
