WELCOME TO OUR ACADEMY

Our mission is to provide all our students with the opportunities they need to become well-rounded citizens who believe in themselves, value others and can make a positive difference to their world.

We believe in every student’s potential, and we encourage them to aim high.

We teach them to have respect for themselves, the community and each other.

We give them the skills they need to be responsible citizens of the future.

When students aim for their own personal excellence, they can always take pride in what they achieve.

Join us to share our success

TAKE A LOOK AT OUR CURRICULUM

We are looking forward to welcoming you again next year ready to start your secondary school journey with us!

WE HELP EVERY CHILD TO SUCCEED

We treat every child as an individual and make sure each has the support to reach their full potential.

We have high expectations for our students which develops their self-confidence and pride. We challenge them to achieve their best with a broad, balanced and stimulating curriculum.

All students receive an excellent education. Every lesson is designed to be interesting and interactive, promoting skills that set students on the path to be responsible citizens and highly employable in the future. As part of the Villiers Park Scholars Programme we build up our most able students’ ‘Skills for Success’: motivation, confidence, problem solving and teamwork.

At Key Stage 3, we focus on giving students time and support to cement a deep understanding of the subjects so that they have the knowledge and confidence they need to progress confidently in their GCSE choices.

WE CARE FOR OUR STUDENTS

We make sure that our students feel valued - every single day. We inspire, support, listen and guide them to make a difference.

The Academy is a safe and nurturing environment where students know they can speak out and they will be listened to.

Each student has a dedicated tutor who knows them well and there is a pastoral team which is always on hand for extra support and guidance.

We are committed to enriching our pupils’ education with more than just academic qualifications. Our focus on public speaking gives students the skills they need to become confident and thoughtful communicators, team workers who are able to listen to others’ points of view and express their own well.

Our aim is for our pupils to achieve their goals and value themselves and the contribution they can make to society, now and in the future.

A POSITIVE PLACE FOR STUDENTS TO THRIVE

We make sure our Academy is a positive space whether you’re a student, staff, visitor or part of our wider community. Our values of responsibility, respect and resilience underpin school life. We respect everyone. We embrace difference.

Our classrooms are tailor-made for today’s learner with specialist equipment and the technology learners need.

We have a dedicated studio for dance and drama, so students can take pride in their work. Our floodlit, all-terrain outdoor pitches allow sports to flourish.

When students do well, we make sure they know it with our positive rewards system.

WE ARE A FAMILY OF SCHOOLS

The University of Brighton Academies Trust is a family of infant, primary and secondary schools based in Sussex.

Working Together, Delivering Excellence, Achieving Ambitions, and Nurturing Potential are the values that guide us. We support each other, sharing insights and best practice so that we never stop improving.

Our mission is to inspire our children and staff to flourish and achieve their best. It is important to us that we positively impact our communities and that pupils understand the role they can play in the wider world.

We aim to create a vibrant, inclusive community, transforming lives and broadening horizons through excellent teaching and learning.
